25th October 2004
Filming & Harry Potter DVDs
I worked all last week and didn't get home until 20.45 on
Friday night which makes it quite a long day as I leave about 7.30 am to go
filming. Unfortunately, I have to go about 40 miles on the M25 from Surrey to
Hertfordshire.
For those people who don't know about the M25, it is the
biggest motorway in our country. There's always too much traffic on it with 4
lanes each way and it can take me over 2 hours to get home. So those of you
that think filming is all glamour, your's so wrong!! Really only the Premieres
are the glitzy bits.
Talking of glitzy bits, there's going to be the launch of the
DVD for the Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban on November 18th in
London. Sounds a really good night- maybe see some of you there. They are
setting up some of the rooms like the scenes in the film and it's usually
brilliant with lots of boiling cauldrons etc. They have food made out of weird
things served up on broomsticks and magician's hats - I bet they have a
Dementor flying around!
I'm still taking driving lessons so this makes it about 4 weeks
I've been practising. My two brothers have taken me out plus I'm getting
lessons from Terry who's local and really good. Seems to have a lot of patience
- best way to teach someone isn't it rather than shouting and yelling. I went
over a nail yesterday which gave me a flat tyre - that really sucks. Such a
waste of money getting a new tyre.
It was my mum's 50th birthday last week so we did loads of
stuff like balloons, a family and friends dinner when all my brothers came home
and my eldest brother did a speech which was quite nice. He was going to sing a
song but thank goodness he was persuaded not to. He loves to make a fool of
himself and it could have been very embarassing for all!!
I'm still trying to work out a venue in Milton Keynes for
November 13 for an autograph signing - will let you know when I get somewhere.
Also, I am aiming to get to Cologne for the week-end of December 18/19 but
again I'm awaiting confirmation of venue. At least I know people in Cologne who
obviously speak German so that should help as unfortunately I don't speak the
language.
Hope you are all ok and no-one got hurt in the Japanese
earthquakes.
