26th May 2004
I had a good time in New York even though it was only 32hrs!
The Grand Hyatt is a great hotel - really convenient and I loved the water
feature in the reception area. I couldn't stop watching the people in the
street below who looked like little ants. Only thing which got on my nerves was
the constant car horns all through the day & night. They were filming in
Time Square which took me back to my time filming here 8 years ago!
Found some great shops although the first day we couldn't find
any record shops. Then we found Virgin megastore in Time Square - what a
brilliant shop- spent 2 hours in there and even ended up having a coffee in the
basement. Even my mum bought some CD's and a T shirt for my brother.
Found a decent size Foot Locker and got some nice clothes and
some Jordan shoes - white ones - which I really like. Bought some Jordan shirts
etc but why do they make all their stuff so big!!
Found McDonalds so had the usual nuggets and plain burger for
lunch. Went to another place to eat later but it was really
rubbish.
The premiere was brilliant except the driver didn't speak much
English and dropped us off in the wrong street. Thanks to everyone who came to
see us - really appreciate it especially when it was so hot and humid. Really
didn't expect New York to be that hot! Great party afterwards even though I
could only stay for an hour - didn't Emma look really gorgeous! Loved the film
although I'm not sure of the bit when Emma punches me - 6000 people clapped and
cheered when she did it! No-one loves the bad guy!
OK Virgin flight back although seats very cramped. Managed
just to make it to my exam on Monday at 1.30pm. Article in The Sun today looks
good - it's nice when they print what you say and not make it up! Correction -
I'm not in July's Sugar magazine.
Look forward to seeing some of you on Sunday at Leicester
Square. Thanks for all your support. See you soon
